First Friday

Downtown Greensboro
First Friday is a FREE monthly self-guided walking tour that includes Downtown Greensboro’s eclectic shops, art galleries, studios, museums, and alternative art venues. Participating stops stay open from 6-9pm on the First Friday of every month with free arts programming to showcase local artists, musicians and various other artistic endeavors.

Family Flick Friday Kernersville

Cinco de Mayo Festival
Sunday, May 12th

La Raza 98.3 FM, Pepe 790 AM & Hola Noticias Triad will be hosting the annual 5 de Mayo celebration. This free signature event will be located at White Oak Amphitheatre at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and features popular regional bands and cultural entertainment attracting over 15,000 NC Hispanics together in one venue.

Walking Tour of Washington Street
Saturday, May 18th at 9:00am
High Point Museum
Tour begins at Changing Tides Cultural Center, 613 Washington St. Local Historian Glenn Chavis will offer a guided walking tour of historic Washington Street. Washington Street was a thriving business and entertainment district for High Point’s black community during the period of segregation. The tour, lasting approximately 90 minutes, is free of charge but is limited to 20 people so you must call to reserve your spot. Call the Museum to register.

Carolina Blues Festival
Saturday, May 18th from 1:00pm to 11:00pm
Festival Park at Price Bryan Performance Place
A day of fun music and memories in the heart of Downtown Greensboro with National Regional and Local musicians. The 27th Annual Carolina Blues Festival will be May 18 under the big tent at Festival Park. Headliners include 2013 Five-time Blues Music Award Nominee, Janiva Magness and Louisiana Blues Hall of Famer, Kenny Neal. The Carolina Blues Festival is the longest running blues festival in the Southeast.
