Downtown Greensboro NC

Downtown Greensboro-SVThe downtown area of Greensboro has undergone significant changes in recent years, creating an atmosphere for the influx of new business and residential opportunities. One of the central hubs in the downtown area is the NewBridge Bank Ball Park, home of the minor league baseball team the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Residentially, the Southside neighborhood downtown exemplifies central-city reinvestment as a formerly economically depressed neighborhood that has been redeveloped into an award-winning neotraditional-style neighborhood.  A variety of high rise condos have also cropped up bringing plenty of residential options to the center city.

Downtown Greensboro also has experienced a dramatic increase in the number of businesses with the opening of numerous nightclubs, bars, restaurants and retail shopping. In addition, this area is home to the Elon University School of Law which opened in 2006 as well as attractions such as the Carolina Theater, Triad Stage, Blandwood Mansion, Center City Park, Greensboro Historical Museum, Greensboro Cultural Center, and the Greensboro Children’s Museum. A multi-million dollar greenway loop around downtown is currently under construction. It will be among the first urban greenway loops in the country and will have walking paths, biking paths, parks, recreational facilities, outdoor classrooms, and art show spaces.
