Westerwood and Lake Daniel, Greensboro NC

The Westerwood community has become known for its blending of homes with classic architecture but with an eclectic artsy feel. One will find it an enclave for artists, musicians and university employees with fantastic access to downtown, parks, and the campuses of Greensboro College and UNCG. It was one of the first planned communities for middle income families built in the early 20th century and features shady, tree-lined streets, churches, parks and neighborhood shopping centers. The owners have banded together to form a neighborhood coalition that has focused on preserving the sense of community that has been cultivated over the years and hosts a variety of community events from stream cleanup to eater egg hunts for the kids. To their credit, they have even been successful in protecting trees from destruction by Duke Energy crews.

The Lake Daniel community is located north of Benjamin Parkway and directly across the street from Grimsley High School. It is comprised of quaint, older single family homes built in the late 1940’s and priced from the $170’s to the mid $200’s, Lake Daniel is a popular area with Greensboro residents due to its proximity to walking trails, restaurants and shopping.
